A clear agreement for requesting, coordinating, and paying for real-world work on TASK.
Who operates TASK
Task Marketplace LLC operates TASK. These Terms, the Safety rules, Cancellation & Refunds policy, and Disputes policy govern your use of TASK. Providers also accept the Provider Agreement. The Privacy Policy explains our information practices. The legal service seller is identified in your task agreement or invoice. If Task Marketplace LLC is itself the seller, it has that seller's obligations as well as the platform's obligations.
Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 and able to enter the agreement to publish a request, provide work, or reserve an appointment, including as a guest. Representing a business requires authority to bind it. Keep account information accurate and credentials private; report unauthorized access promptly. One account may hire, work, or do both. Passive viewing does not require an account or an age declaration.
What TASK provides
TASK helps turn a request into a defined scope, connects eligible people, records agreements, and coordinates status and payment instructions. Availability depends on the particular place, time, and work. Sending a request does not guarantee a match, a professional qualification, arrival, or completion. Providers choose which work to offer for and accept. The actual relationship and applicable law determine each party's duties; the marketplace label does not override them.
Your agreement for the work
A private draft is not a published request or purchase. Review the outcome, inclusions, exclusions, timing, location, people, equipment, materials, completion evidence, and maximum price before sending. TASK may select eligible offers within the approved maximum according to the disclosed matching process. Direct requests intentionally target one provider. A selected person is not cleared to start until the required team and funding are ready. The recorded agreement identifies the accepted sellers and their shares.
Fixed prices and changes
Marketplace checkout supports a maximum combined customer total of $10,000, including all providers and mandatory charges. Larger inquiries can receive quotes but do not authorize automatic checkout above that limit. TASK charges no connection fee or marketplace commission at launch. Sellers pay their actual Square processing costs. An AI estimate is not a binding offer. Extra work, higher prices and material changes require fresh approval. Earned and replacement shares count toward the same approved whole-task maximum. Splitting tasks or using invoices to evade checkout controls is prohibited. Existing agreements retain their original authorized maximum.
Free and Plus
Basic marketplace participation is free. Optional Plus costs $20 per month, billed in advance with explicit recurring-payment consent until canceled. Free includes 100 AI credits per calendar month; Plus includes 1,000 per billing month. Each credit represents $0.004 of metered model/tool cost; usage varies by request. Credits are service allowances, not money, have no cash value and do not roll over. No automatic overages apply. Failed generations restore customer allowance while internal incurred costs remain recorded. Free usage is subject to daily promotional capacity. Exhausting AI credits does not remove access to existing tasks, ordinary messages, payments or support. Cancel in membership settings; access continues through the paid period. Failed renewal does not grant a new paid period. Refund rights required by law remain available. Future prices and allowances require the applicable notice and never reduce an already purchased period.
Goods, taxes, and expenses
A customer purchases and prepays goods directly with the merchant. The service agreement does not authorize providers to front purchases or claim automatic reimbursement. Service charges and goods purchases are separate. Required taxes and mandatory charges must be resolved and included in the approved service total. Each party remains responsible for tax reporting or collection assigned to it by law; these terms do not transfer a platform's statutory obligations to a provider.
Card storage, holds, and separate sellers
Square handles payment card details. Saving a reusable card and authorizing a task are separate approvals. The payment screen identifies the sellers, their fixed shares, combined total, and permitted card use. A task with multiple independent sellers can create separate holds, charges, statements, and processor receipts. A card hold is not escrow or a completed charge. Work starts only after the required authorizations are verified. Failed or uncertain operations are reconciled before retry. Your bank controls when a canceled hold disappears.
Proof, review, and payment release
Every assignment requires appropriate completion evidence, which can be a note, checklist, receipt, or privacy-safe photo. Your authenticated task page is the authoritative location for completion notices. Once all required proof and the review notice are available there, its displayed 48-hour review period begins. We separately attempt your enabled notifications; email is not guaranteed. You may approve completion earlier or report an issue. Without an open issue, your funding approval authorizes capture after that period. An issue pauses automatic release. A hold's expiry never permits early capture or a shorter review period.
Safety and regulated work
Provide accurate task details, lawful instructions, safe access, and information that materially affects the work. Do not continue work that is unsafe. Providers must meet applicable licensing, permit, insurance, competence, and other requirements. A willing provider or a checkbox is not a substitute for a required credential. Some tasks need eligibility review before publication or assignment. A specific credential badge describes only the check shown; TASK does not promise universal background checks, insurance, or professional verification.
Personal appointments and arrival links
A time-only personal reservation does not require payment or an account and does not itself create a paid marketplace job. Keep its private management link secure. A separate task or invoice requires an explicit agreement. Calendar export does not synchronize another calendar's busy time. Arrival links show the sender's shared ETA and freshness, not a guaranteed arrival or continuously running background tracker. Share recipients can forward a link, so share it only with intended people. Stop-sharing and expiration end access.
Invoices and external payments
A separately approved personal invoice identifies the actual seller, agreed work, amount, and due date. Square hosts its payment page. Creating a share link does not authorize TASK to contact the recipient, automatically charge a saved card, or send reminders. Cash or Zelle recorded by the seller is an external payment record, not verification by Square. The same work must not have two live payment obligations; uncertain or partial payments must be resolved before converting an invoice into a funded task or vice versa.
Your content and reviews
You retain ownership of your content. You grant TASK a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt and display your content as necessary to operate, secure, personalize and improve TASK, including permitted AI evaluation and improvement, and to share it with authorized participants and service providers. This license is subject to Privacy, your applicable choices and retention limits. Private content is not automatically licensed for public advertising; identifiable personal photos and testimonials require appropriate permission. You warrant authority to upload the content. Reviews must reflect genuine eligible work; publication occurs when both eligible sides submit or after 14 days. No rating is created for a skipped review. We may moderate unlawful, private, abusive or fabricated material consistently, without suppressing an opinion merely because it is negative.
AI and connected services
AI can make mistakes. Review generated scope, prices, facts, and recommendations before relying on them. TASK's general chat is not a substitute for a licensed professional and does not create a professional relationship. Do not place passwords, card numbers, sensitive case records, or unnecessary personal information in prompts. Connected AI clients receive only the permissions you grant; opening an external AI application does not connect your TASK account. You can revoke access. Third-party services apply their own terms and privacy practices.
Restrictions and account action
Do not use TASK for illegal services, fraud, harassment, discriminatory conduct prohibited by law, collecting another person's private information without authority, circumventing security or payment controls, or violating another person's rights. We may limit a particular action or suspend an account to address a concrete safety, legal, fraud, or material contract problem. We provide the reason and a review path when lawful and practicable. Suspension or revised terms do not remove access to reporting, privacy requests, refunds, or existing obligations.
Responsibilities and limits
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TASK is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, uninterrupted availability, or outcomes controlled by independent providers. TASK is not a general guarantor, insurer or credential issuer. TASK excludes indirect, incidental, special, consequential and punitive damages, and lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data, to the extent permitted. Aggregate liability for claims arising from platform services is limited to the greater of $100 or TASK platform fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Provider service payments are not platform fees. This cap does not erase money owed, legally required refunds, fraud, willful injury or other nonwaivable liability, and does not limit the LLC's own service-seller obligations merely by calling them platform services. To the extent permitted, you will defend and indemnify TASK and its personnel against third-party claims attributable to your unlawful conduct, material breach or infringement, including reasonable defense costs. TASK will give reasonably prompt notice and cooperation; no settlement may admit TASK liability or impose nonmonetary obligations without consent. These protections apply only as permitted by applicable law.
Changes and the whole agreement
We identify policy versions and effective dates and make prior published versions available. Material changes require acceptance for new agreements or material changes to work; an existing agreement keeps its recorded terms and payment authority. Invalid provisions are limited or severed only as permitted by law, preserving the rest. A failure to enforce a provision once is not a permanent waiver. These Terms and the specifically accepted task documents form the agreement for the covered service, subject to rights that cannot be waived.
Disputes and contact
The Disputes policy includes individual binding arbitration, class-action restrictions and an arbitration-related jury waiver, with small-claims exceptions and a 30-day opt-out.
